Gerald Pinckney BVSc, BSc
Originating from the heart of the mainland Gerald grew up on a Southland sheep farm and still supports the Highlanders. Cutting his teeth in Wairoa, he then spent 3 years in the UK coming to grips with the finer points of hamster soft tissue surgery, sheep caesarians, and the Hedgehog Protection League. Back to Opotiki where he spent 5 years fishing, diving and hunting and when there was time working in mixed practice. Having tired of the soft winters associated with coastal Bay of Plenty, he and his wife Natalie (also a vet working for VETPlus) moved to Rotorua with their young family. Gerald works as a large animal vet mainly from VETPlus Reporoa. Gerald is one of the team of Directors and currently Chairman of VETPlus. He is an experienced Sheep, Beef and Deer Vet enjoying the variety alongside Dairy work.
