Companion Animal Veterinarian / Veterinary Surgeon - Fixed Term -  Taupo, NZ

An opportunity has arisen in our BESTPractice accredited clinic in stunning Taupō. One of our wonderful companion animal veterinarians will be taking parental leave from August 2026 through to September 2027, and we’re looking for a vet with at least two years’ experience, to join our team during that time.

Taupō is a mecca for sports lovers, outdoorsy people, cultural types, and families (whether your kids are human or the fur variety!). Our town is central to both coasts and larger centres, has fantastic cafes and restaurants, and offers all the right niche stores alongside the big-name chains.

Our newly refurbished clinic offers all the equipment you need for thorough case workups. Our six companion animal vets share medical and surgical rotations, with plenty of hands-off-the-fur time allocated for case management. You’ll enjoy the support of our extraordinary nursing and customer service teams, but be warned, they will insist you take your breaks! Team wellbeing is a genuine and active focus here.

The Role

• 3, 4 or 5 days per week (clinic hours 8:00am – 5:30pm)
• 1 Saturday morning clinic (3 hours) in 6 weekends
• 1 weeknight per week and 1 weekend in 6 on-call
• 2 paid days leave following a weekend on duty
• Competitive salary plus after-hours allowances
